Choosing a walk
For a first outing, use an official route sheet showing the starting point, route profile and recommended season. The routes to Lac de Crop, the Vénétier lakes and Barioz require different preparation. A mountain hike is not automatically suitable for children or wet weather.
Before leaving, check the forecast, trail conditions and any restrictions. Bring suitable shoes, water, warm clothing and rain protection. Respect grazing animals and natural areas, and keep dogs on a lead.
- Check the start and track on the official sheet
- Difficulty and duration vary by route
- Check mountain conditions on the day
Plan your outing
- Choose a route sheet whose level and duration fit your group, then check the start and forecast before leaving.
- Allow time for the return and adapt the outing if tiredness or terrain conditions change.
