Frequently asked questions

Planning your stay,
made simple.

Answers to your first questions. For a particular need or details about your dates, contact the owner.

What does the 3-épis rating mean?

Épis are the quality rating used by the Gîtes de France network. A 3-épis rating gives an indication of the accommodation’s comfort, facilities and services.

This rating is separate from the tourist star classification: three épis do not mean three stars. Each accommodation description lists the spaces and facilities actually available at Gîte de Belledonne.

Which option should we choose for 6, 9 or 15 guests?

The 6-person option occupies the ground floor and has three bedrooms. The 9-person option comprises the two upper floors, with five bedrooms. For 15 guests, you rent the entire gîte and its eight bedrooms.

Compare the options

Does the option for 15 include the entire gîte?

Yes. It combines the ground floor and the two upper floors: all three floors of the gîte are included.

How do I access each accommodation option?

For 6 guests, use the chemin des Deux Bassins entrance: a ramp provides wheelchair access to the ground floor. For 9 guests, use the chemin de la Source entrance and access the upper floors via the terrace. Both entrances are available for 15 guests.

Is there wheelchair access to the gîte?

A ramp on chemin des Deux Bassins provides wheelchair access to the ground floor for the 6- and 15-person options. The upper floors are only accessible by stairs, so the 9-person option is not wheelchair accessible. Contact the owner to check passage dimensions and any equipment you need.

How can I check availability and prices?

Check the calendar for your accommodation option on the Availability page, then include your preferred dates and number of guests in your enquiry. The owner will confirm availability, the price and the conditions of your stay.

How is my booking confirmed?

First, ask about availability and the price for your dates and group. If you wish to book, the owner sends you a proposed contract that holds the dates for one week. Your booking is confirmed when the 30% deposit is received. The balance is due one month before arrival. An enquiry alone does not confirm a booking.

How is electricity charged?

The contract includes an advance payment for electricity, adjusted according to actual consumption. The included allowance is 8 kWh per day for the 6- or 9-guest options and 16 kWh per day for the entire 15-guest gîte. Consumption above this allowance is charged at €0.25 per kWh. This helps keep costs under control and encourages careful use of energy.

How much is the tourist tax?

Tourist tax is charged in addition to the stay price and electricity costs. It is €0.80 per adult aged 18 or over, per night.

What are the arrival and departure times?

Arrival is from 5 pm and departure is at 9 am. Guests are normally welcomed and given the keys in person; please confirm the arrangements with the owner before arrival.

Are bed linen and cleaning included?

Bed linen is provided and the beds are made for your arrival. End-of-stay cleaning is included. Before leaving, please make sure the dishes and ovens are clean.

What coffee should I bring?

The kitchens have filter coffee makers. Bring ground coffee and suitable filters. There is no coffee grinder or capsule machine.

Is there a garden and play equipment for children?

The garden is shared by the guests of both gîtes. There is play equipment and a playhouse for children. Parents are responsible for their use.

What are the rules on noise, parties and smoking?

The gîte is in a hamlet with close neighbours. Please keep noise down, with no noise after 10 pm. Parties are not allowed. Smoking indoors and dropping cigarette ends in the garden are prohibited.

What equipment is needed for winter travel?

From 1 November to 31 March, in signposted areas where winter equipment is compulsory, you need four winter tyres marked 3PMSF or suitable snow chains or snow socks for at least two driven wheels. Check road conditions and follow road signs before travelling.

Is there a nearby shuttle to Les 7 Laux?

There is no shuttle departing from the gîte. Seasonal M réso services connect the valley with Prapoutel. Check the stops, operating days and timetables for your stay with M réso before relying on this transport; a seasonal service does not guarantee a stop close to the gîte.

Can we stay for less than a week?

Bookings are normally weekly, from Saturday to Saturday. You can book several consecutive weeks. For other dates or lengths of stay, explain your request in your message to the owner.

Do babies count towards the capacity?

Yes. The maximum capacity of each option includes babies: 6 guests on the ground floor, 9 on the upper floors and 15 for the entire gîte.

Are pets allowed?

Dogs are welcome for a supplement of €75 per week. This weekly charge also applies if the dog stays for less than one week. Dogs must remain in the living room; bedrooms and bathrooms are off limits. Cats are not accepted.

Where can we park?

Two cars can park in front of the gîte. A parking area a little farther away can accommodate approximately three to four cars; public car parks are also available.

Is ski storage available?

Yes, ski storage is available at each entrance to the gîte.

What facilities are provided?

Bed linen and towels are provided, and Wi-Fi is available with all three options. Find the equipment details on the Gîtes page and on each option’s page.
