Activities and outings

A day in Grenoble

Grenoble offers a change of pace while remaining in the Alps. The tourist office lists heritage sites, museums and historic neighbourhoods. The Musée Dauphinois, housed in a former Visitandines convent, explores Alpine folk cultures and communities.

A cultural route

For a first day, choose one theme rather than trying to see everything: built heritage, Alpine history or museums. Check opening days, exhibitions and access conditions on official pages. The Musée archéologique Saint-Laurent is another way to explore the city’s history.

Weather permitting, round off your visit with a walk through the historic neighbourhoods or a break beside the Isère. Plan your journey and parking before leaving the gîte.

  • Musée Dauphinois and Alpine cultures
  • Musée archéologique Saint-Laurent

Plan your outing

  • Check opening times, bookings and access before leaving.
  • Choose one or two visits and leave time to explore the centre on foot.
