Activities and outings

A day in Chambéry

Chambéry is a cultural complement to Belledonne activities. The castle museum presents the history of the Château des Ducs de Savoie, a seat of power with buildings dating from the thirteenth century onwards. The tourist office lists other heritage visits to combine according to opening times.

Planning the visit

Start by checking museum opening times and guided tours. Heritage guides may lead tours of the castle; arrangements vary by period. Continue through the historic centre with a visit selected from the Chambéry Montagnes website.

To extend your day outdoors, look up the region’s lakes and beaches. Check the opening season and swimming conditions before travelling.
